Ten years ago, Mr Ooi Lin Kah was a marathon runner and civil servant. However, Mr Ooi was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2013, a form of Motor Neuron Disease (MND). He is now an advocate for change and has helped to set up the MND Association to support people with the condition and their caregivers. Mr Ooi has also registered as a brain donor to donate his brain tissues after death for biomedical research to help find a cure for MND.
